President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with heads of law enforcement agencies of the country.
During the meeting the Head of State expressed his condolences to the families and relatives of 49 Ukrainian soldiers and 5 border guards who died on June 14 in the course of the Counterterrorist operation.
The President stressed that today the Armed Forces of Ukraine in cooperation with border guards completed the task to block 248 kilometers of the state border of Ukraine.
"The goal of the task - to regain Ukrainian control over the state border of the country and give adequate response to terrorists", - the Head of State stressed.
The Acting Minister of Defense reported at the meeting that more than 250 members of illegal armed groups, many of whom are Russian citizens, were killed during the last day in the area of the Counterterrorist operation.
The Head of State drew the attention of the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine to the failure of the management of the Counterterrorist center of the Security Service of Ukraine to implement a set of measures to ensure the safety of the military transport aircraft during combat missions for the neutralization of terrorist groups, particularly in the Lugansk airport where the terrorist attack took place.
"I am waiting from you, Mr. Head (the Security Service of Ukraine) a detailed analysis of reasons that caused the said accident and staff proposals regarding the responsibility of the management of the Counterterrorist center ", - Petro Poroshenko said.
The President instructed the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to allocate compensation in the amount of UAH 610 thousand for each family of killed soldiers till Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov and Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
